### Role Description

eckoMEMBER’s are the basic level users of the eckoDAO which are automatically assigned by participating in [Governance Mining](/eckodao/eckodex/governance-mining.md) to accrue voting power. They form the foundation of the DAO and are instrumental in decision-making processes.

**Verified: Discord Connection**

* Eligibility: Hold sKDX tokens and complete the verification process via Discord.
* Vote on all proposal types and participate fully in discussions.
* Can apply to become eckoLEAD.

**Unverified: Non-Discord Connection**

* Eligibility: Hold sKDX tokens without completing verification.
* Vote on all proposal types and participate fully in discussions.

### Responsibilities

* Voting: eckoMEMBERS are eligible to vote on active proposals. They are encouraged to actively participate in governance by expressing their opinions on proposals that influence the direction of the DAO.
* Participation in Governance: Apart from voting, eckoMEMBERS can also take part in discussions and debates that shape the DAO's future. They can provide their unique perspectives and help in the formulation of informed decisions.
